Maureen Elliott

Orquidea owner, Maureen Elliott, started her career working part time on the retail sales floor. While enrolled in a fashion merchandising program, she caught the eye of her employer who offered her a more permanent position as Display/Merchandising Manager for her chain of stores. This began a decade long tenure with the company where Maureen was able to work in many different areas of the operation. She moved from Merchandiser to Accessory Buyer and eventually to Buyer of all collections. Maureen also oversaw the retail operations and executed all marketing and advertising for the chain. All of this experience gave Maureen the tools needed to successfully own and operate her own retail store which she established in 1996.

Maureen continues to run all aspects of her business but still prioritizes her time on the sales floor. “I believe that it is vitally important for the owner to be on the front lines”, says Elliott. “I love to work with my customers, help them make the most of their wardrobes and get their feedback in order to stay on the cutting edge” enthuses Maureen.
